Prayer for the New Week

May this week be a time of senseless love

may it be a time when we can enjoy thunderstorms

May it be a time of embracing arms

words that heal and encourage

and make us laugh for a really long time

May it be a time of happy flirting

safe dancing

long lazy moments of watching clouds form and reform and disappear

oh so slowly

May it be a week which would make Reb Zalman smile

may it be a week which, looking back, takes our breath away

that we were able to muster so much love and courage and brilliance

may it be a week of deep peacemaking: even in Israel/Palestine, even in our families

even at the Shabbes dinner table, even in ourselves

May it be a week of crying in each other’s arms

may it be a week of kombucha

May it be a week in which the Sisterhood of the Traveling Peacemaking

and its sister chapter, the Brotherhood of Interfaith Peacemaking

have a picnic, and seven billion people show up

with blankets and bamboo silverware
